To further those objectives, now and in the future, we must always remember the lessons learned from the past and incorporate them into our ongoing proactive technologically advanced development efforts.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist hijacking attacks of American Airlines (AA) and United Airlines (UA) aircraft. Each airline lost 2 planes, (AA flight #11 and UA flight #175) at the North and South Towers of the World Trade Center in NY; AA flight #77 at the Pentagon in Washington DC and UA flight #93 into a field near Shanksville, Pa. It was a day which marked the deadliest attacks in our nation’s history. We pay tribute to and honor the innocent 9/11 heroes and their loved ones who lost them. The courage and resolve of their families are inspirational reminders of our national, patriotic and caring resiliency. We pray those legacies endure forever and vow to NEVER FORGET !
At GSX, the riveting details of those horrific deadly attacks on America will be shared in the general session by Rich Davis (Retired CSO UA), Bonnie Michelman (former CSO Mass General Hospital System) and Larry A. Wansley as the Retired AA CSO who started that day by notifying the FBI that our flight #11 was missing and presumed hijacked. While on the phone with FBI Dallas SAC, Danny Defenbaugh, we both watched UA #175 on a live tv broadcast, crash into the South WTC Tower. At that moment we both knew our country was under attack. We subsequently confirmed that the hijackers flew AA#11 into the North tower a short time before. The crashes at the Pentagon and Shanksville followed. The world changed on that day, now referred to as 9/11. There were 2977 attack deaths that day. Subsequently, to this date, more than 4300 other hero victims have succumbed to deadly diseases due to exposure to toxins and other hazards at each crash site. Thousands more are continuing to suffer daily from the results of related diseases and conditions. Details of those and other terrorist events that impacted America and the world are recounted in my book, Tough Streets, Rough Skies and Sunday Sidelines.

The ceremony will be followed by MARCH 455 participants in a procession from the 9/11 Memorial Site through historic downtown Grapevine to Peace Plaza in honor of the 455 First Responders who paid the ultimate price on September 11, 2001.
At the Peace Plaza event, a Pipe Major will perform Amazing Grace as the marchers pay their respects in honor of the 455 Heroes.
The world changed that day and it’s a reminder that we must NEVER FORGET!!
